Amelia County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm current custody or release, retrieve official booking material, post a bond, arrange a visit, change a record, or give legal advice. Use the responsible public office below for those matters.
Official Routes for Records and Status
Amelia’s adult present-custody source is regional. Begin with PRJ for a live custody question, then use the actual record custodian for a specific existing record. A roster result is not a court disposition, and a released person may no longer appear in a current-custody search. Official links are included so the request reaches the office that maintains the information.
Amelia County Sheriff’s Office

Use the PRJ Offender Lookup for a person presently held in PRJ custody. For a PRJ-created booking record or photograph, contact PRJ Records or the jail’s listed FOIA contacts, giving the name and approximate booking date.
Virginia Department of Corrections
For a documented state-custody or supervision question, use the VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator. It is not the first source for a newly arrested person held at PRJ.
For formal VADOC records: FOIA@vadoc.virginia.gov
Phone: (804) 963-2953
Administrative Compliance Unit, P.O. Box 26963, Richmond, VA 23261
Use the Virginia Case Status and Information system for the later court case and disposition. Amelia’s public court pages, including the Combined General District and J&DR Courts and Circuit Court, provide the local court path. Federal and immigration custody are separate systems: use the BOP Inmate Locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator only when that different custody category is independently relevant.
- For live regional-jail custody, search PRJ’s official lookup by name.
- For an Amelia Sheriff record, email ACSO with a reasonably specific request for an existing record.
- For a PRJ-created record, use PRJ Records and provide the person’s name and approximate booking date.
- For a case outcome, check Virginia’s court system rather than relying on a booking entry or news report.
- For a statewide custody or supervision category, use VADOC’s official locator or FOIA route.
